Abstract

This thesis aimed to describe the implementation and the strategies utilized in English speaking in the dormitory of LC English Course. The technique of data analysis used by the researcher is descriptive qualitative by Miles and Huberman’s consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display by interviewing the tutor and the member, as well as observing the dormitory of LC English Course when the program ran. The result of this research showed that the strategies applied by the tutor storytelling, discussion, conversation, and speech. storytelling and discussion are strategies applied for the beginner class (basic speaking and intermediate) while at the same time speech, problem solving, conversation, discussion are methods applied for the high-level class (proficiency and advanced speaking). Hopefully, the result of the research can be useful for students, tutors, and also other researchers so that they can spread the benefits to the other.
