Abstract

The background of this journal is to explore the cultural dimensions found in Bene Dion's “Missing Home” through the perspective of literary sociology. Using this approach, the author identifies various cultural aspects reflected in the narrative, characters, and visual settings in the film. Cultural exploration in this context includes aspects such as local traditions, social norms, cultural values, and conflicts that arise due to intercultural encounters. The method used is the descriptive method. The results of the analysis show that “Missing Home” is not only an entertaining work of visual art, but also a profound work in showing the complexity of culture and social interaction in contemporary society. In conclusion, this study contributes to our understanding of how films can be a powerful reflection of social and cultural realities, as well as the importance of a literary sociology approach in analyzing contemporary audiovisual works.
