Abstract

Prenatal development refers to the stages of development that occur in a fetus from conception to birth. Following are some of the major stages in prenatal development. The process in which a mature egg cell meets a sperm cell. This occurs in the fallopian tubes and forms a zygote, which will then begin to develop. The zygote begins to divide gradually in a process known as cell division. This results in an increasing number of cells, forming the blastocyst. After a few days, the blastocyst will attach to the uterine wall, which is called implantation. This is where the process of fetal growth and development begins. During the first few weeks, the blastocyst will develop into layers that become the basis for the fetus's organs. Cells begin to differentiate to form different tissues and organs, such as the brain, heart, skin, and others. Each of these phases is very important in forming the structure and function of the fetus's body. Healthy prenatal development depends largely on good nutrition, a safe environment, appropriate medical care, and careful attention to the health of the expectant mother.
