A curriculum is a strategy that is intentionally designed to achieve a number of educational goals and includes objectives, teaching materials, and methodologies. Curriculum is a collection of subjects or teaching materials that must be delivered by teachers or delivered by students. In accordance with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2003 concerning the Public School System (Sisdiknas), it is understood that education programs are an important component in the implementation of education. Therefore, in order to get the perfect quality of education, the government has gradually updated the curriculum until now there is a new curriculum, namely the Merdeka curriculum. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of teacher understanding in implementing the Independent Curriculum and the problems experienced by teachers implementing the independent curriculum. The research design used in this study is descriptive and quantitative, carried out through survey techniques. The subjects in this study were physical education, sports, and health teachers at SMA / MA in Ponorogo Regency. All teachers are 53 with a minimum score of 15 and a maximum score of 75. The data obtained in this study is known to have an average score of 54.72 and a standard deviation of 11.92. The data can be classified as the understanding of high school / MA teachers in Ponorogo Regency obtained a score of 53.6% is included in the category of understanding half.
