Implementasi Gerakan Literasi untuk Menanamkan Minat Membaca Siswa di SMP Kristen Wee Rame

The School Literacy Movement (GLS) is a program initiated by the government to improve reading culture among students. In Indonesia, GLS has been implemented at various levels of education, including at Junior High School (SMP). However, Wee Rame Christian Middle School has not implemented GLS optimally due to the lack of interest in reading among students and limited book collections. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the literacy movement to instill interest in reading in students at Wee Rame Christian Middle School. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method consisting of 1) pre-field stage in the form of licensing and preparing instruments for data collection 2) field work stage in the form of observing the literacy movement in schools by distributing questionnaires and interviews, 3) and data analysis stage. The results of the research show that the existence of a literacy movement at Wee Rame Christian Middle School really helps foster students' interest in reading in class, this can be seen from the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of students in reading books and actively participating in literacy activities by visiting the reading corner. This can also be seen from the implementation of the indicators used by researchers when making direct observations or observations, and is supported by the results of interviews.
