Abstract

Islamic higher education in Indonesia is very important to create a strong, competitive and moral young generation. Islamic universities strive to instill moral and spiritual values based on Islamic teachings in addition to providing academic education. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach and analyzes the literature on the role of Islamic higher education in character development. The results show that Islamic higher education contributes greatly in shaping a generation with character. This is done through strategies that integrate Islamic values into the curriculum, involve students in social activities, and make teachers as examples. In conclusion, Islamic higher education is very important to form a good young generation that will contribute positively to society. This method is expected to produce the next generation of a moral, honest, and competitive nation in today's global era.
