The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of competence and work discipline on employee performance as an invening variable in the West Papua provincial government agency. The number of samples in this study was 100 employees who worked in the West Papua Provincial Government Agency. This study uses data analysis methods in this study using Partial Least Square (PLS). The data testing techniques used in this study include descriptive statistical tests, measurement model tests, structural model tests, and indirect influence tests.
The results of this study indicate that (1) Employee competence has no significant effect on employee performance, namely -0.006. (2) Employee competence has no significant effect on work motivation, namely -0,059. (3) Employee discipline has a positive relationship, and has a significant effect on employee performance, namely 0.302. (4) Employee discipline has a positive relationship, and has a significant effect on employee performance, namely 0.894. (5) Work motivation has a positive relationship, and has a significant effect on employee performance, namely 0.593. (6) Employee motivation can mediate the influence of employee discipline on employee performance, namely 0.53. (7) Employee motivation cannot mediate the influence of employee competence on employee performance, which is 0.035.
